Cook Inlet Soccer Club Reports Strong State Results

Cook Inlet Soccer Club (CISC), based in Anchorage, has won more than 82 state championships since it was founded, including eight of 16 state championships in 2025, along with more than 100 local and national tournaments, according to the club’s website. CISC also reported an additional three finalist finishes among the sixteen divisions in which its competitive teams played during the 2025 season.

Anchorage Youth Soccer Club’s Long History and Professional Ties

Anchorage Youth Soccer Club (AYSC) was established in 1986 as a 501(c)(3) organization, making it one of the first soccer clubs in Alaska, according to the club’s website. AYSC also hosts the Alaska Far North Invitational, described by the club as the oldest soccer tournament in the state.

AYSC says it is the first and currently the only club in Alaska with a professional club affiliation, partnering with the MLS Portland Timbers and NWSL Portland Thorns FC organizations, according to the club. That tournament, the Far North Invitational, draws teams from across Alaska and Canada as well as college coaches, and concludes with a closing ceremony that includes trophies and awards for age-group champions, according to information published by the Alaska Youth Soccer Association.

State Championship Structure

Beyond club-level competition, the Alaska School Activities Association (ASAA) organizes annual Soccer State Championships each year, with games streamed live on the NFHS Network and championship programs made available for download, according to the ASAA website. That structure runs alongside the club-based leagues that feed into regional and national competition through USYS.

What the Season Results Mean Going Forward

For Anchorage clubs, the combination of state championship results, national league invitations and long-standing club infrastructure forms the backbone of how teams qualify for regional-level play. CSC’s membership in UAYSL, AYSA and USYS positions its players for the Far West Region IV Presidents Cup and Regional Championships, according to the club. Meanwhile, CISC’s 2025 season, which included eight state championships and three finalist finishes across sixteen divisions, according to the club, reflects one measure of competitive depth among Anchorage-based programs this year.

AYSC’s professional affiliation with the Portland Timbers and Thorns organizations, along with its role hosting the state’s oldest tournament, adds another dimension to the city’s soccer development pipeline, according to the club. Together, these organizations — CSC, CISC and AYSC — along with the state championship structure run by ASAA, make up the primary avenues through which Anchorage teams pursue regional and national competition.

Further coverage of team-by-team results and championship brackets is expected as the state and regional postseason schedules continue. Readers can find additional tournament information and championship programs through the Alaska School Activities Association and through the individual club websites for Chugiak Soccer Club, Cook Inlet Soccer Club and Anchorage Youth Soccer Club.
